Parenting Children with Special Needs Turns ONE!
We were very honored and excited to be a part of the celebration of PCWSN magazine’s one year anniversary bash. It was a warm day but attendance was great. myubby was there doing a giveaway and sharing news about our store grand opening in Overland Park. We value our relationship with this magazine and look forward to seeing it grow!

ubby Design of the Month
In an effort to show you some of the latest trends in blankets and to see what other fabrics/colors people are pairing together to build their ubby, we’re going to start ubby designs of the month. We’ll feature a new ubby design each month to help inspire you as you build your next ubby.
This month’s ubby was designed by four-year-old Eleni. She came in our store this week and picked a beautiful hot pink swirly and hot pink smoothy with light pink satin trim and embroidery. The perfect blanket for the not-so-baby little girl!

Note: the hot pink smoothy and swirly fabrics will be available online soon!
Business Between Sisters

Savanna, 10, Madison, 14
Since opening our doors just a few short weeks ago, we quickly learned that we wanted our retail store to not only be about our customized ubby blankets, but also about supporting local entrepreneurs. We’re blessed to have some pretty talented people living in the Kansas City area, who make everything from fabric headbands, to picture frames to adorable pillow case dresses.
One such partner who recently joined us, are the sisters behind Cutie Pie Bows by Elaine Nicole. These sisters, ages 10 and 14, make hair bows out of duct tape. Yep, that’s right – duct tape. Who knew the tape you wouldn’t dare use on anything visible in your home, now comes in Hello Kitty patterns?!
The bows are adorable and handmade by both sisters. They began selling them at their schools and this is their first venture into a retail boutique. As of now, they are just available in our stores, but if you’d like to place an order, please contact Melina at melina@myubby.com.
We wish these sisters the best of luck and look forward to watching them become amazing business women one day – they are already well on their way!

Building Blankets with Kaiden

Kaiden with his Ubby and the My Ubby Family
A few months ago, we mentioned our involvement with the wonderful magazine, Parenting Children with Special Needs, and that the May-June feature family, Kaiden and his mom Carlee, would be stopping in to build an Ubby blanket with us. We were so thrilled to meet Kaiden and his mom and were inspired by his story (if you didn’t get to hear all about Kaiden in the May/June issue, click here.) and overall great outlook on life. He reminded us the importance of giving back to the community, so we look forward to building blankets for each “Feature Family” in PCWSN magazine!
